In this video, Jacqueline explains what options you have if your business is viable, but you can't get financing anywhere. The safety net for entrepreneurs is the so-called Bbz scheme (Decree on assistance for the self-employed). It is a government regulation, you can apply for a credit here when you cannot knock on a bank for money, for example if you have a tax debt. The Bbz scheme finances up to € 200.000 and this loan must of course also be repaid. You may not be eligible for such a Bbz credit, for example if your partner has an income above assistance level. Then you are not eligible, while your company is viable. This arrangement is outdated, for these companies should be a safety net!
The province of Flevoland is the first province to recognize this. That is why this province created the so-called MKB Doorstartfonds in 2014, a fund in which around 2 million euros is available and from which loans are provided to companies that would otherwise have had to close their doors. The fund has already assisted some 7 entrepreneurs from Flevoland with a loan. The loans granted vary between € 6.000 and € 190.000 and this also includes companies with personnel. Thanks to the credit from the SME Restart Fund, these employees have all kept their jobs. Some of these companies are even growing again!
The MKB Doorstartfonds in Flevoland is a very good example for all other provinces, because it is quite sour that if you do not live in Flevoland and still meet all the conditions, you cannot get credit. The Bbz should be a safety net, but in practice it turns out that there is a safety net behind the safety net.
