The intake interview at Zuidweg & Partners
In this video, Jacqueline Zuidweg explains how the intake interview at Zuidweg & Partners works. The intake interview is the first step in the debt counseling process. As soon as we have received the application form, we will invite the entrepreneur for the intake interview. We also send a number of forms with the invitation and ask the entrepreneur to complete these in preparation for the interview. The more information the entrepreneur brings to the intake interview, the better we can evaluate the situation and give advice.
The intake interview takes place within two weeks of receiving the application, and in urgent cases even within three days. We try to have the conversation take place as close as possible to the entrepreneur in the neighborhood. In addition to our locations in Hilversum and Drachten, we have various intake locations throughout the Netherlands.
The intake interview lasts about an hour and a half. We discuss the emergence of the debts, but especially the question of how the debts can be resolved. The debts incurred in the past are regulated from the possibilities of the future. This means that we look at how much the entrepreneur can earn in the coming years and how much of this amount can be used to pay off the debts. First, we look at whether or not the entrepreneur can continue with his or her company. If this is not possible, we will look at the options for the entrepreneur to return to paid employment.
A lot of information is exchanged during the intake interview. We therefore advise the entrepreneur to bring someone to the intake interview, so that after the conversation there is someone with whom you can speak. This can be a partner, but also an accountant or accountant. Of course we make a report after the conversation so that the entrepreneur can read everything back, but from experience we know that it is more pleasant for the entrepreneur to have someone there for support.
