Zuidweg & Partners annually helps thousands of entrepreneurs who have problems with their finances. What we often see here is that the bookkeeping is not in order and that the annual accounts or profit and loss accounts have not been prepared. This has the consequence that the tax liability cannot be determined. If an entrepreneur does not submit the tax return, the Tax and Customs Administration will file an ex officio assessment. This is an estimate of the amount that the entrepreneur must pay to the tax authorities. This amount is considerably higher than what the entrepreneur actually owes.
Entrepreneurs with financial problems often find themselves in a situation where they can no longer pay the accountant. This creates a backlog in accounting, which causes a backlog in the tax return. For a debt settlement, however, it is a condition that the accounts and the tax return are in order. An entrepreneur with a backlog in accounting therefore has no possibility to settle his or her debts.
To solve this problem, Zuidweg & Partners established the Stichting Hulp Bij Boekhouding (SHBB). The foundation works together with bookkeepers and accountants who put our customers' accounts in order quickly and at a very low rate. This allows debts to be dealt with more quickly and we create a win-win situation for everyone: the entrepreneur, the creditors and the municipality that wants to help the entrepreneur.
